The Names of God - Deliverer

Deliverer
Romans 11:26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.

Deliverer proclaims Jesus Christ to be One who rescues us from sin and destruction and preserves from such. It also reminds us of the threefold deliverance secured for is – past, present, and future (2 Corinthians 1:10).

Lord Jesus, I thank you that you are my Deliverer. You have delivered me from the guilt of my sin that separated me from God. You have delivered me also from the power and dominion of sin. In you there is no condemnation, therefore I can always come boldly to your throne of grace with my requests and needs.

Mummy Ate It!

For weeks, John a six year old kept telling his teacher that he is expecting a baby brother or sister soon.

One day, the mother allowed John to feel the movements of the unborn child. John was not impressed and did not say anything. Furthermore, he stopped telling his teacher about the baby brother or sister.

One day, the teacher sat John on her lap and said, "John, has your baby brother or sister arrives?"

John burst into tears and cried, "I think Mummy ate it!"

What Is A Parable?

Jesus told the crowds all these things in parables. He did not tell them anything without using a parable.

Matthew 13:24

Jesus often taught His disciples and the crowds by telling parables. Parables are stories with a meaning.

Have you heard about the parable of The Two Sons, The Lost Sheep or Workers in The Vineyard?

These are some popular parables. The next time you read a parable, ask your parents or KIDS.Church Teachers to explain to you the meaning.

By the way, which parable is your favourite?

The Names of God - Counsellor

Counsellor
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Such a counselor is Jesus Christ, who has a guiding mind to think for all, a guiding heart to feel for all, a guiding hand to act for all. His counsel is unchallengeable. As a member of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), Christ who is omniscient (all-knowing) is able to give counsel to His people concerning God’s mind and will.

Lord Jesus, what a comfort to know that you are an all-knowing Counselor. With such assurance, I know I can come to you with my problems with confidence that you will guide me with your counsel. Teach me to lean not on my own understanding but in all my ways acknowledge you so that you will give me success.

Wake Up Son. Time For School

One early morning, mother went to wake up her son.
"Get up, son. It's time to go to school!"
"Mom! I don't want to go."
"Give me 2 good reasons why you don't want to go."
"Well, one - the children hate me and second, the teachers hate me, too!"
"Oh, that's not good reasons not to go to school. Go and get ready."

"Mum, give me two reasons why I should go to school."
"Well, for one, you're 42 years old and second, you're the principal!"

The Names of God - Christ

Christ
Matthew 22:42 “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” “The son of David," they replied.

The word Christ means “Anointed.” This was Jesus official designation and occurs in the 4 Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) about 57 times, and is usually used with the phrase “The Christ.” Like the priests, kings, and prophets in the Old Testament were anointed to their respective offices and were thus considered as God’s anointed ones, we can readily understand why Christ was The Anointed One. Having been consecrated by His Baptism and the descent of the Holy Spirit as our Prophet, Priest, and King.

Lord, I am so blessed to have you as my Anointed Prophet, Priest, and King. From this anointing, I can have your teaching, share of your sacrifice and intercession, and enjoy your gifts and riches. Praise be to your Holy Name.
